Brand Standard Furnishings continuously works to protect the environment, the health and safety of our employees, and the best interest of our customers. The following are ways we work to promote sustainability within our own factories:

Cushions

To help prevent ozone layer damage, we use high-density and high-resiliency foam that’s free of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and formaldehyde.

Finishing

Our finishes come from our partners at AkzoNobel who have developed a new plural component spray technology that improves indoor air quality with a coating that meets today’s environmental standards protecting both our earth and our employees.

Factory

• Our factories use manufacturing materials that do not contribute to deforestation or mass reduction of the earth’s resources.
• We develop and continue to promote internal manufacturing processes that reduce waste.
• We recognize Life-Cycle Analysis as the best measure of a product’s environmental impact.
• All of our seating is made in the City of Industry, California so it can have a faster lead time and a smaller carbon footprint than imported goods. All of our upholstery is 100% US made.

Marketing

To minimize our carbon footprint we have moved to a completely electronic format for presenting and referencing our case goods, seating and lighting products, thus eliminating the traditional printed binders. In addition, it is our goal to minimize printed marketing collateral whenever possible.
